Description
Color still life photograph of symbolic Greek theater masks for comedy and tragedy painted on a stucco wall with the late afternoon sun casting shadows filtering through the trees. The Hipstamatic app was used to create a soft focus and border to the picture. The two masks associated with drama represent the traditional generic division between comedy and tragedy. They are symbols of the ancient Greek Muses, Thalia and Melpomene. Thalia was the Muse of comedy (the laughing face), while Melpomene was the Muse of tragedy (the weeping face).
